Medical college students not skilled to prescribe medical marijuana
Though 29 states and the District of Columbia enable marijuana use for medical functions, few medical college students are being skilled prescribe the drug. Researchers at Washington College College of Medication in St. Louis surveyed medical faculty deans, residents and fellows, and examined a curriculum database maintained by the Affiliation of American Medical Schools (AAMC), studying that medical marijuana will not be being addressed in medical schooling. Their findings can be found on-line within the journal Drug and Alcohol Dependence . " Medical schooling must catch as much as marijuana laws," mentioned senior writer Laura Jean Bierut, MD, the Alumni Endowed Professor of Psychiatry at Washington College and a member of the Nationwide Advisory Council on Drug Abuse.
